How to Use Telegram's Chat Folder Feature

Telegram Chat Folder Feature Overview
Telegram's official clients now support the Chat Folder feature. This feature is available for the following client versions:
- iOS/Android/macOS clients: Version 6.0 or later
- Windows/macOS/Linux desktop clients: Version 2.0 or later
Features of Chat Folders
- Users can choose to include or exclude specific chats and chat types, allowing for free combination and customisation of folders.
- "Archived" chats cannot be added to folders.
- Each folder can contain a maximum of 100 chats, and there's no limit to the number of chats that can be pinned within a folder list, but you can only create a maximum of 10 folders.
Example Folder Configurations:
- "Groups": Includes all joined groups (including archived ones).
- "Channels": Excludes archived channels.
- "Groups": Excludes archived and specified groups.

How to Set Up Chat Folders
- iOS/Android/macOS clients: Long-press or right-click on "Chats", then select Settings → Folders to configure. If you don't see the "Folders" setting, please click this link to access folder settings.
Usage Tips
- iOS/Android clients: Long-press a folder name to "Edit Folder / Reorder / Delete" it. Swipe left or right across the chat list to switch between folders. Swipe down on the "Chats" tab to access the hidden "Archived Chats", but archived chats cannot be accessed from within a folder.
- iOS client gesture controls:
- Swipe right on a chat avatar: to mark as Read/Unread or Pin/Unpin.
- Swipe left on a chat entry: to turn notifications On/Off, Delete, or Archive.
- Android client: Long-press a chat in the chat list to archive it.
- macOS client: Use keyboard shortcut Command+1/2/3/4... to switch between folders. Right-click a folder name to "Edit Folder / Reorder / Delete" it.
- Desktop clients: Use keyboard shortcut Ctrl+1/2/3/4... to switch between folders. Right-click a folder name to "Edit Folder / Delete" it. Folders can be reordered by dragging them.
- The number on a folder indicates the number of chats with new messages, not the number of unread messages.
