Linking Telegram Groups to Channels: A Step-by-Step Guide
Telegram now makes it super easy to link groups with channels, a new feature that really boosts the user experience. Here's a detailed guide on how to set it up.
Overview
By linking a group to your channel, you'll get automatic info synchronisation and much more efficient interaction. This feature works for both supergroups you manage and any regular groups you've created.
The Steps
-
Go to Channel Settings
In your channel, tap the 'Edit' (or 'Settings') option. -
Choose a Discussion Group
Locate the 'Discussion' (or 'Group') option and select the group you want to link. -
Link the Group
Tap 'Link Group' to finalise the setup.
Key Features
-
Discussion Button
All users will see a 'Discuss' (or 'Group') button at the bottom of the channel panel. Users who've already joined the group will also see the number of unread messages. -
Automatic Content Posting
Any content posted in the channel will automatically be forwarded to the linked group and pinned to the top, so no one misses out on important info. -
Message Synchronisation
Messages edited or deleted in the channel will automatically update in the linked group, keeping everything consistent. -
Permissions Management
Only administrators with 'Change Channel Info' permissions can alter these settings. -
Applicable Group Types
You can link either supergroups you manage or regular groups you've created to a channel. Just a heads-up: regular groups will automatically convert to supergroups to support this feature.
By following these steps, you can effectively link your groups with Telegram channels, boosting interaction efficiency and making information sharing a breeze.
