Key Features of Chat Folders

  • Users can choose to include or exclude specific chats and chat types, allowing for flexible combination and custom folder creation.
  • Archived chats cannot be added to folders.
  • Each folder can contain up to 100 chats. While you can pin an unlimited number of chats within a folder, you can create a maximum of 10 folders.

  1. Include "Groups": Includes all joined groups (including archived ones).

How to Set Up Chat Folders

  • On iOS/Android/macOS clients: Long-press or right-click on "Chats", then select Settings → Folders to configure. If you don't see the "Folders" setting, please click this link to access folder settings.

Usage Tips

  • On iOS/Android clients: Long-press a folder name to "Edit Folder/Reorder/Delete" it. You can switch between folders by swiping left or right through the chat list. Swiping down on the "Chats" tab reveals the hidden "Archived Chats", but archived chats cannot be included in folders.
  • iOS Client Gestures:
    • Swipe right on a chat: Mark as read/unread or pin/unpin.
    • Swipe left on a chat: Mute/unmute notifications, delete, or archive.
  • On Android clients: Long-press a chat in the chat list to archive it.
  • On macOS clients: Use keyboard shortcuts Command+1/2/3/4... to switch folders. Right-click a folder name to "Edit Folder/Reorder/Delete" it.
  • On desktop clients (Windows/Linux): Use keyboard shortcuts Ctrl+1/2/3/4... to switch folders. Right-click a folder name to "Edit Folder/Delete" it. You can reorder folders by dragging them.
  • The number displayed on a folder indicates the number of chats with new messages, not the total number of unread messages.
